This museum was created on the 2000, thanks to Fernando Botero, Colombian painter and sculptor recognized by his representative artwork about huge and fat characters and animals, Botero donated a collection valued over 200 million dollars. As a condition Botero anounces that the pieces cannot be moved or borrowed afterbeing hung so that every piece of art is in the same exact space as Botero decided.
Theres exhibited 123 artworks in different techniques of its own and 85 of representative artists from the end of the XIX century and beginning of the XX like Picasso, Renoir, Dalí, Matisse, Monet, Degas, Chagall, Giacometti, Bonard, Vuilliard, Modigliano, Laurencin among others, making this one into one of the most big and important in the world.
In this museum are given conferences and workshops in areas of fine arts for children, young adults and teachers, Also fun activities to increase the love of art.
Hours: Monday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sundays: 10:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Closed on Tuesday. Admission is free.
